The view from the highest peak of Velebit, in my opinion, is not as attractive as the one from only a few meters lower Sveto Brdo or about 150 meters lower Visočica, but the view towards Lika is well worth the climb. I have slept here several times, which is a special experience.

Bunovac is located at an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level, which is why the shortest climb to the highest peak of Velebit leads from it. The first few steps across the meadow are a warm-up for a sharp steep ascent, but the shortest paths are usually the steepest.

The peak itself looks more like a wisdom tooth and less like a canine. A large spacious meadow. When you're already there, it's a shame not to take advantage of the height gained and walk along the summit ridge, and if you're in good shape, in 7-8 hours of walking you can also visit the Vaganski vrh and Sveto Brdo and return to Bunovac by another path. Extract from the hiking map is here (Source: HGSS via Avenza Maps).

I like to go to Vaganski vrh from Bunovac meadow the most. In Raduč, you should follow the road sign and turn towards Velebit next to the abandoned house. The macadam road that leads to Bunovac has several forks that, honestly, I pass by feeling and memory, but I always somehow get there. Macadam is well marked on the attached map, and is somewhat visible on the satellite image on Google Maps. I personally added a large part of the road to Bunovac on Google Maps.
