The people of Karlovac are proud of their four rivers. What amateurs! Lovinac has: Banica, Jadova, Jadi\u010devac, Kru\u0161nica, Suvaja, Opsenica, Ri\u010dica and Ri\u010dina. The source of Banica used to be an uninteresting puddle, but now it has been renovated as a wonderful place for a picnic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is a barbecue area and a few tables set up at the spring and if you are celebrating your birthday in a month with good weather, this is the perfect place. There are also a few trees that will provide some much-needed shade. How popular this place is is shown by the fact that some call Jarun lake \"Banica of Zagreb\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The water is, of course, cold, but not so cold that you can't lie back in the spring for a few minutes in the summer. That is why it is the right time to mention that the name Banica probably comes from \"bana, balenum\", which would be a place for bathing in Latin.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
