The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Madonna in Deringaj was destroyed in the Second World War and I hope that it will soon see the day of restoration. Maybe then I will remove it from the guide because it will be just one of many similar churches. Like this, with a bare stone skeleton, it is special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In fact, it might not be one of the many, not so much because of itself, but because of where it is. It is in the company of beautiful linden trees, which to my completely unprofessional eye look as old as the church itself. I think they sprouted somewhere around 1863. Behind the church there are monuments to Toma Mandi\u0107, Nikola Mandi\u0107 and another Toma Mandi\u0107. The last name probably doesn't mean anything to you, but they are Nikola Tesla's great-grandfather, grandfather and uncle. His mother's name was \u0110uka Mandi\u0107.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The river Trebi\u017eat sinks and rises again several times, so it has as many as nine different names. Otu\u010da sinks only once and is reborn as Krupa. Admittedly, she has another name. On the board in front of the bridge next to the church its name is written as Otu\u0107a.\"<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
