Monastery should definitely be included in the package of visits to Zrmanja and Krupa. Because of the thick shade that surrounds it and the cold water that mourns it, this place always reminds me of a desert oasis on hot summer days.

On the pages of the Obrovac tourist board, you will find shamefully little information about this monastery. In those six sentences, you will not find any information from the time before the 18th century, and it is about the oldest Orthodox monastery on the soil of the Republic of Croatia, founded in 1317.

Compared to other monasteries, this one is rather poorly decorated, which is partly to blame for several historical tragedies in which both the monastery and its works of art were destroyed.
