Zdunić Tower

On the road sign for Zdunić Tower, next to the name, something resembling a church tower is drawn. Damn whoever came up with it! I blame him for finding the tower only on the second attempt, because it doesn't look like any tower, but an ordinary house.
The inscription above the door (turned upside down) bears the year 1744 and is assumed to be the year of construction. It was a time when the Turks were paying tribute here, so its function is clear.
There is no great need for you to go to Smokrić for the tower, but I sometimes drop by. The reason is Zorka Zdunić, who, when I met her, was already well into the second half of her ninth decade. Zorka explained to me who was born here, how long he lived there and where he eventually moved to. Who sold what property to whom or who did not sell out of spite. I also know who married well and who married badly. Zorka knows everything, and I know Zorka.
