Grabovača Cave Park is located within the significant landscape of Risovac - Grabovača, which is one of the most geologically diverse parts of Croatia. The main attraction is the wonderful Samograd cave, and every time I come I discover new interesting things and attractions that spring up in the park like mushrooms after the rain.

For the Samograd cave, the best description is the one uttered 150 years ago by the Croatian teacher, naturalist, botanist, travel writer, mountaineer and caver Dragutin Adolf Hirc: "If it were possible to let the sun's rays into the cave, to suffuse those magical spaces, that Samograd would shuffled through the palace of pearls, as the fairy built it."

Due to the large number of attractions and various events in the park, you can spend hours here without the kids getting bored. As a father of two little gremlins, I know what that's worth. There is a forest organ, a small garden of medicinal and edible plants, an eco children's playground, a labyrinth, an Easter fair, Christmas magic, a Green fair and the Lika Regatta, Night of bats...

I once attended a concert 150 meters underground, as evidenced by the attached photo. Samograd is a great place to cool off in the summer heat, and just a few minutes away, you can swim in the Lika river.
