This is an undiscovered pearl of Lika. The reason is probably that at first glance it seems that it is difficult to reach, but that is not true. You can enjoy this wonderful place without major problems and, as things stand for now, you can do it in peace and without crowds.

The lake is located next to Tiškovac Lički, not even a kilometer from the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the nearest road is. This sounds easy, but you still need to cross the state border to get to Tiškovac. I think that the second approach with ten to fifteen kilometers of dirt roads and an hour long hike across Ljubina poljana is a fair price to pay for what you get.

The lake has a round shape and steep banks that continue just as steeply below the surface, to a depth of about 50 meters. Access to the coast is from the south side. In the summer months, the water is perfect for swimming. Just refreshing.

There are two approaches to the lake. One that starts with a little less than five kilometers on dirt roads, which can be in very bad condition, you come to an intersection and enter the Poštak hunting ground. Go left there, although the path going right looks better. After another six and a half kilometers on dirt roads, you emerge on a serpentine with a view to the east. Well, leave your car right there and follow the unmarked path that is clearly visible on OpenStreetMap. The hike to the lake will take about an hour.

There is also a much shorter hiking (walking) tour of 15 minutes from Tiškvac Lički, but to get there you will have to drive fifteen minutes more by car and cross the Kaldrma border crossing. I never went this way.
